(FT.com June 2007)                                                      The strongest price growth for country homes is now further west along the M4 highway, with Dorset, Somerset and Cornwall as the biggest beneficiaries. When the stock market dropped like a stone on 2001, the cream of the country property market continued apace right into 2002. It wasn't until 2003 that there was a slightly stickier time, when the number of buyers tailed off. The key is that there is such a lack of these properties. The maximum pricing has hit £1,000 a square foot in Sandbanks; in the same league as homes in Fulham. (FT.com Aug 2007)
